Amazon reported Prime Big Deal Days was a successful beginning to the holiday sales season and a demonstration of how effectively its fulfillment services can function.
The company noted U.S. Prime members purchased more than 25 million items with same-day or next-day delivery during the event’s first 24 hours.
Amazon revealed the fastest product delivery in the United States during the first of the two Big Deal Days was of a KitchenAid stand mixer pasta attachment and “The All New Ball Book of Canning and Preserving,” dropped off only 54 minutes after a 7:20 AM eastern time order the retailer received in Ohio.
Apparel, home, beauty and toys were among the best-selling Bid Deal Days product categories with the Bissell Little Green Multi-Purpose Portable Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner among the best-selling deals.
Big Deal Days was the first Amazon event that enabled members of its U.S.-based Prime membership program to take advantage of deals beyond its own store using Buy with Prime, a service provided by independent sellers on the company platform. Prime members ordered more than 150 million items from independent sellers on its platform, Amazon stated, most of which were small and medium-sized businesses. The Hula Home Spray Bottle was one of the best-selling small business products sold in the U.S. on the first day of the event.
Amazon said its customers can expect great deals throughout the rest of the year across a range of categories including home, beauty, electronics and fashion, with gifting inspiration and shopping recommendations available in Amazon’s Holiday Shop at amazon.com/holiday.
Amazon holiday guides cover a variety of designations including:
- Gifts Under $25. The e.l.f. Cosmetics Brow Lift, Stanley Classic Legendary Camp Mug and Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub.
- Décor. The Bedsure Faux Fur Cream Throw Blanket, Homesick Premium Scented Candle, and National Tree Co. Carolina Pine Artificial Tree.
- Most-Loved Gifts. The JBL Clip 4 Portable Bluetooth Speaker, Keurig K-Mini Single Serve Coffee Maker and UGG Women’s Cozy Slipper.
Amazon said Prime members saved over $1 billion across millions of deals during the two Prime Big Deal Days, October 10 and 11.
